Tesoro Pavilion is a poolside pavilion that was created for an ambitious fashion tycoon. The dynamic, energetic design was inspired by the process that seamstresses use to create forms through pleating. Each fold produces volume out of the single roof surface, exposing the underside of the ceiling and in turn creating the space around which visitors circulate. The folds stiffen the roof and organize the placement of the beams. The physical and spatial effect creates a series of pocket gardens that grow out of the base of each folded pleat, marrying the fashion-inspired structure with nature.
