Camsur Agro-Town
Can urban planning help shape the government?
Camarines Sur Province, Philippines
Construction Documentation
A regional capital represents both the aspirations and reality of its people: it is a mirror and a projection of the future. When tasked to masterplan the Camsur Capitol, we aimed to provide a framework that focused on ecological development, infrastructure improvement, and commercial desirability.
The masterplan brings several new transport improvements to the capital—an expanded airport, commuter highway, and train line—to incentivize development in the region. Additionally, the design brings new civic services and accommodates commercial tenants while respecting the ecology of the wetlands and forest on the site, blending recreation and agriculture into the city.
Camsur Agro-town’s masterplan highlights the site’s natural assets while creating profitable development opportunities.
